Computer Network Software covers computer support and network administration topics. Students learn networking concepts, from usage to components, and create peer-to-peer network systems and client server networks. Students install, configure, and connect network cards. Students learn how to install operating systems, set up and manage accounts, load software, and establish and implement security plans. Contextual instruction and student participation in co-curricular career and technical student organization (CTSO) activities will develop leadership, interpersonal, and career skills.
Prerequisites
If taking the course as dual enrollment, students must be concurrently enrolled in Cybersecurity Operations (96662W).
Cybersecurity courses have concurrent enrollment requirements. Cybersecurity Year 1: 26659 & 26667. Cybersecurity Year 2: 26657 & 26662.
This course may be dual enrolled at Northern Virginia Community College. The NOVA entrance requirements must be met before registering. Please consult with your school counselor for more details.
Student-selected verified credit can be earned by passing the course-related industry certification.
