Students continue to develop cultural awareness, comprehension and production skills, and emphasizes a variety of sentence structures in American Sign Language (ASL) with a continued focus on interactive communicative competence. This course provides students with the opportunity to become skilled in ASL conversational fluency while developing an understanding and awareness of the culture, heritage, and civic values of the U.S. Deaf community.
Prerequisites
Grade of C or better in American Sign Language II and teacher recommendation.
Students travel to the Arlington Career Center for this course. Transportation is provided.
This course may be dual enrolled at Northern Virginia Community College. The NOVA entrance requirements must be met before registering. Please consult with your school counselor for more details.
