Students will read literature, compare, and contrast philosophies and religions, investigate archaeological findings, research the beginnings of written language, analyze works of art, music, and dance, examine patterns of human and environmental interaction, and investigate historical and legal documents that describe cultures of this time period.

The course is aligned with the Virginia Standards of Learning for World History and Geography to 1500 A.D.
