Students enrolled in Advanced Placement (AP) courses are eligible to earn an additional quality point on their GPA upon achieving qualifying grades. Students are strongly encouraged to take the corresponding AP examination for the following benefits:
- Demonstrate mastery of college-level content
- Earn potential college credit
- Enhance college applications
In accordance with the Arlington School Board decision, beginning in the 2025–2026 school year and beyond, Arlington Public Schools will cover the cost of up to three AP exams per year if the student is enrolled in the corresponding AP course during the current academic year and the course is listed in this Program of Studies.
